SPECIAL is a solo semi-autobiographical musical theatre show about being a young person on the autism spectrum. Seemingly mundane childhood experiences are recounted and reinterpreted with the benefit and blur of hindsight, all presented in the classrooms that outline our first eighteen years of life. Featuring music, monologues, and a spelling bee, SPECIAL takes its audience not-too-tightly by the hand on a whirlwind journey that redefines difference.
